Welcome to the home of the Triangle Macintosh Users Group. Feel free to explore. TMUG is based in the Triangle area (north-eastern Piedmont) of North Carolina, and was established for the enjoyment & support of Macintosh users from Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary and nearby communities.
Our meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 6:30 - 9:00 pm. (We changed from the 2nd Monday of each month beginning on October 13, 2009.) TMUG services update

  • The issue with TWC / RoadRunner email addresses has been resolved. After TMUG's G4 server went off-line for ~11 days in early July, it was recolocated in Durham & we were up in relatively short order. However, in Durham we (now) are on a TWC backbone, and quite interestingly, the only ISP we had trouble delivering email to was… TWC. This of course affected TMUG-list traffic as well. It took us a while to figure out the problem, which involved our reverse zone file with TWC. Since we do not control the reverse zone, we were dependent on TWC making a change on their end, which they *finally* have. [8.27.10]
  • It has come to our attention that tmug-list subscribers with nc.rr.com email domains are being blocked from receiving tmug-list email by Road Runner / TWC. We are working on a resolution. Subscribers may read list posts via the TMUG-list archives. You will need to login with your tmug-list password, which you may get from your TMUG-list: member options login page. [8.7.10]
  • TMUG webmail is back on line as of 8.6.10. Members may access webmail from the Webmail (tmug.org) link under " members " in the sidebar on the right side of the tmug.org website.
  • TMUG's server is back on-line. The web site, TMUG lists, and email services are up and running. Access to members' WebDisk space is available. Some services are still off-line, including webmail and access to the "Members Only!" area. We are still working to make all services operational, but some may be delayed until we set up a permanent location for the files.

We regret any inconvenience. And we appreciate the support and patience of our members.

(TMUG's server was off-line from 7.1.10 ~3:00 pm through 7.12.10 ~11:00 pm. It has been moved to a new location from the colocation service we were using for several years. Thanks to Stefan, 4pi, Charles, option8, & Cort for their assistance in getting TMUG operational again.)

The next regular meeting of the Triangle Macintosh is Tuesday, August 10th at 6:30 at Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Rd, RaleighHope Community Church.

Want to know what it is like to work at an Apple Store?

Bill Ackerman, one of the managers from the Apple Store in Crabtree, will talk about working for Apple, specifically within retail. He'll give you an overview of what Apple Retail accomplishes for customers in their store, and the radical changes Apple has done in the retail space to enrich the experience of our customers. There will be time for Q and A as well, regarding the store and working for Apple.
