The June TMUG meeting will return to our new meeting place at the Hope Community Church in Raleigh. The first order of business will be to hold the elections for officers that was deferred in March. Any member who is interested in participating on the executive committee is encouraged to contact any current officer or the Executive Committee list. The 5 officer positions are President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, & Treasurer, as specified in TMUG's bylaws.
The June program will be one of our "Sit & Share" get togethers. We will divide into small ad hoc groups & discus various topics of interest to those present. The topics are your choosing. They may be relevant to recent discussions on the TMUG email list. Or they may be something brand new. Make a suggestion to the TMUG-list before Monday, or bring your idea with you. Also, TMUG member & Macintosh consultant Charles Mangin will introduce his latest creation – Marvin, the paranoid Frankintosh. Marvin is a "G4 Mac Plus" running OS X Tiger.
Charles Mangin will take a turn moderating the Q&A session this month. Bring your burning questions on any Apple or Mac topic, & Charles will help glean an answer. Our usual door prize drawings for TMUG members will be held as usual. The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm on June 9. Remember, TMUG is the undisputed leading Mac User Group in the Triangle... & beyond! — TMUG Officers Elected —
The annual election of TMUG's officers was held at the June 9th meeting. (Officer elections are normally held at the March meeting. The election was postponed due to the mandated search for a new meeting place earlier this year.) The nominating committe identified 4 individuals & presented them to the membership, who approved their election by acclamation. Serving for the remainder of the 2008 fiscal year through March 2009 are Stefan Jeglinski as President, Smythe Richbourg as 1st Vice President, Chips Chapman as Secretary, & Fred Lampe as Treasurer. (The office of 2nd Vice President remains unfilled. Any member who is interested in serving in this capacity, or would like to otherwise assist the Executive Committee, is encouraged to contact any officer individually or email XCom.)
