New Business

  • There is concern about the quality & size of the projected images at the monthly meetings.
    • Is it due to limitations of the "new" Optima projector, or is it due to the size & dimension of the screens that we project onto?
    • Lighting in the rooms is also a factor.
    • XCom met at Hope at ~6:30 (06.22) to compare images projected by the "new" & "old" (Boxlight) projectors on installed & portable screens at different locations in the rooms w/ different lighting.
      • We used only the "new" Optima projector. Tweaked the calibration w/ Smythe's MBP. We
  • Allen got a new iPod Touch (8 GB) w/ his new MBP. He sold it to TMUG for $180.
    • We will raffle it w/ an iTunes card at the July meeting.
    • tickets will be $5 ea or 3 for $10

Old Business

  • we need to updae the tmug.org domain whois info
    • the technical contact is still listed as Paul Lemieux
  • The follow up with Bob Chandler on his iMac prize is he & his wife have decided on an iMac.
    • Fred has sent Bob / Macvantage a check for $1199
    • Stefan will complete the 990 form.
    • Since we wrote a check to Macvantage to purchase the iMac, do we need to complete & file an IRS 1099?
  • We need to decide what to do with the old projector.
    • We will poll the members what they would like us to do with it.
    • Possible options include selling it on eBay, donating it to another non-profit (e.g. Eno River Assoc.), raffle it at a TMUG mtg., etc.
  • Smythe suggests that we should blog Q&A each month
    • we need to identify someone to do it
  • TMUG server
    • [from Oct - ] Stefan has talked with MacHighway. One of the issues is that they don't use a Postfix email / Cyrus for IMAP system. (no new info)
