Ideas posited to the general list in mid-January:
• Internet Radio (Slacker Radio, Pandora, AOL Radio, station websites) This covers both the Mac and iPhone/Touch devices.
• Alternatives to cable (hulu.com, Netflix, various network options - NBC.com, USAnetworks.com, abc.com, etc.)
• Remote presentations (Glance, WebEx, GoToMeeting, BackToMyMac)
• Web and iPhone/Mac note syncing programs (SyncBook, SyncNotes, EverNote, Fliq)
• Social Networks - in real life (LinkedIn, Flickr, TweetUps, Forum software)
• Intelliscanner - Paul Scandariato (He wrote back - not until summer or fall)
• Choosy - (web browser enhancement) (probably a Quickie)
Suggestion from Charles:
Quickies: • how to check for scam emails - by looking at the headers of the email to see where it really originated. it's a method that catches all but the sneakiest scams (Charles Mangin)

New Business
- [from Oct - not discussed in Nov or Dec] Fred brought forth a discussion about "the membership" - Should we try to grow it? Is the average age higher than we would like? Should we try to aquire more younger members? Should we redirect the group's focus?
- It was suggested that TMUG make a donation as a memorial for Aaron Jeglinski, e,g, to Animal Protection Society of Durham or Durham Humane Society. Stefan asked that the group not make the donation, as some members may not agree.
Old Business
- discussion of how to do the iMac Give Away drawing:
- use blue paper tickets,
- assign numbers from tickets to entrants spreadsheet
- publish ticket numbers to TiGA list on website
- [from Oct - not discussed in Nov or Dec] Smythe will look into a compact, integrated PA amp / speaker system in the $300 price range & will report back to XCom.
TMUG server
- [from Oct - not discussed in Nov or Dec] Stefan has talked with MacHighway. One of the issues is that they don't use a Postfix email / Cyrus for IMAP system. (Stefan will fill in some details here.)
